MAC Dry Martini

I just wanted to do a quick post and show you guys the polish I bought yesterday. April and I had both been wanting an olive green color and wanted Rescue Beauty Lounge's No More War, but couldn't imagine spending $18 and having to pay shipping. So when I saw that MAC was releasing a dark olive color I was so excited!

As you can see from the picture it is a very brown olive color and even though I like this one a lot, i'm still craving for one that's a few shades lighter and a little more green.
It took two coats to reach bottle color and applied very smoothly.
Oh, and this is my first MAC nail polish and now officially my most expensive.

Color Club Blue Light & A Roundup of Giveaways.

First I want to show you one of my favorite polishes and then after the pictures I have a list of some great giveaways I have run across recently.
The first picture is from a couple of months ago when my nails were still short and I wasn't very good at doing my nails. While I do love this color, what really won me over is it's durability. I usually change my polish everyday or two. However I caught a really bad cold and was unable to change my polish for a whole week! My nails finally started to show a bit of wear on the seventh day. I don't know if all of this brand's polishes wear this well, but if you are looking for a great color that will last try Color Club's Blue Light.

Here is my list of giveaways. All of these are easy to enter, nothing complicated or confusing.

First we have an amazing nail polish giveaway from Body and Soul. Win a complete 12 piece set of the Barielle/All Lacquered Up Collection, a complete boxed set of Color Club's Wild at Heart Collection, or a complete boxed mini set of Color Club's Dark Romance The Matte Collection! Contest ends August 31.

Next we have another amazing nail polish giveaway from Glittermillie. Win 5 Barry M polishes or 1 Illamasqua! Drawing will be held September 9th.

This is a giveaway for hair products from Beauty Blogging Junkie. Each winner will receive five of each product.
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality Shampoo
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality Conditioner
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smoothing Crème

You have all probably entered this one already! Another great nail polish giveaway from Polish or Perish. Grenade, 45 Caliber & Military Blues from BB Couture for Men.

This is an exciting giveaway from Bare Budget Beauty and the Body Shop. Win a set of their new tea tree oil product line.

This one is a little out there. From one of my all-time favorite blogs notcot. Win one of these crazy hoodies. You do have to send an email to the company for this one, but it is pretty fun.

This is from OPI and O magazine. Win Coleccion de España by OPI.

This is a blog I just discovered that I find really exciting. They showcase giveaways for handmade items. Look at the Kitty mobile!

Wow that is our longest post so far I think.
Thanks for reading!

Zoya Dea, Envy, & Trixie

These are the 3 free polishes I got from Zoya when they did the Twitter give away.

From left to right they are Dea, Envy and Trixie. I didn't have any application issues, and they were all opaque in two coats.

This is Dea. When applying it I thought it was going to be more of a caramel brown color but with the second coat it darkened to a nice chocolate brown color. I think it will be a color I wear a lot this fall.

This is Envy. It's a nice deep dark green creme. It does look almost black in some lights. I think this will be another color I wear a lot this fall.
Now that I have a dark green I want a little lighter one like Orly's Enchanted Forest or even Nubar's Forest. I don't think i'll ever have enough greens!

I thought Envy would be my favorite color but I think I like Trixie the most.
It's such a fun and shiny color. I love the finish. I can't wait to wear it out.
I just hate removing glitters though, they get everywhere!

Thanks for looking!

China Glaze Entourage

This is a very nice color. Easy application, like all of my China Glaze. I still really want a nice lime green though. This one isn't quite what I was looking for, but the closest I could find in town. I really wanted to try the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lickety Split Lime, but I never saw that collection anywhere around here. Any good suggestions for a nice lime green that is not neon? I was thinking of trying Nubar's Hot Lime Green.

Sally Girl Periwinkle

This is a lovely color but a bit gloopy. I'll try some other pale blues instead.

My First Nail Polish - Sinful Colors - Cloud 9

Ok, not the first one ever in my life, but it was the first one I picked out for myself when Ashley started trying to get me in to nail polish a few months ago. I love the Sinful Colors. They have some crazy glitters and a few that dry matte. This one isn't particularly unique, but it is very pretty. Nice medium orange shimmer. We get these from Walgreen's for $2. It looks like they just came out with a bunch of new glitters and shimmers, so get to Walgreen's if that is your thing. (Wow my nails are way longer now!)

China Glaze Solar Power with nail art

The base is China Glaze Solar Power, the dots were done with OPI Greenwich Village and the lines with OPI Alpine Snow. This is the first nail art I ever attempted and I think it turned out pretty well.

Nina Ultra Pro - In A Tiff

WOOO! We love contests! We entered Polish Mayhem's cool contest today & we won! She put up a lovely picture of four polishes and you guess what they are to win. We even guessed them in the right order. It was hard but a lot of fun. We'll be getting a nice new bottle of China Glaze For Audrey. (Can I have it Ashley since you already have a bottle?) Here is a picture of me wearing Nina Ultra Pro In A Tiff, which was one of the other mystery polishes.

My 3 Favorite Nail Polishes

The The Nail Buff blog is having a contest for a Nails Inc. giveaway. You just have to post your three favorite polishes and comment on her blog.

China Glaze Recycle
This is a medium grey creme and is super easy to apply.

OPI Greenwich Village
This is a medium green creme. I haven't really seen another green quite like it.

BB Couture Electric Avenue
Really pretty watery light blue creme. It takes 5 coats to become bottle bottle color but is so worth it!

As you can see I like really like creme's. Especially green ones, or any type of unique colors.

Loreal Bijou Gems B. Strong Gems #925

This is a polish I found in my house when Ashley started getting me into painting my nails. No idea where it came from or how old it is. The color is lovely, but the polish is gloopy.

China Glaze Grape Juice

I love China Glaze Grape Juice. Very unique finish & easy to apply. This is 3 coats.

How do you folks keep your nails from staining?!? I have no idea what to do about mine at this point, other than to just keep wearing dark polish and never let them see the light of day again. I don't like this option by the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First Konad!!

April ordered us our first Konad items last week! Konad is an ingenious stamping system for nail art. I never ever thought i'd be doing nail art, but this is a lot of fun. This is their website - Konad USA.

We got our Konad items just in time to enter a contest from the KonADDICT blog. Which you can check out here. We found her blog on one of Getcha Nails Did's, New Blogs on the Block posts. The owner of the KonADDICT blog does really awesome and unique manicures with her Konads. I love her super detailed photo instructions!

These are the plates April picked out. The one with the zebra print is mine. Which is what I used this time.

Here is my first Konadicure (as most people call them).
I used N.Y.C.'s Taxi Yellow for the base and Icing's Ice Queen for the zebra print.

You can see on a few of the nails that I didn't cover the whole thing. It's really fun though. We both have lots of ideas for new ones and can't wait to show you guys!

China Glaze Chocodisiac

Very nice chocolate brown creme. Easy to apply.
